The Diet

- A patient picks 5 portable choices from a broad selection of 100 calorie protein bars, protein drinks, puddings, soups, pretzels, and other low carb, protein-dense snacks
- In addition to the 5 mini-meals, patients also have 1 daily "regular meal" of about 6 ounces of lean protein and 1 1/2 cups of non-starchy vegetables
- Total daily calories: 900
- Meal replacement 'Mini-Meals' are micronutrient sufficient
- Women typically lose 8 to 14 pounds a month
- Men lose 15+ pounds a month
